Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Sergi Martinez Rodriguez, the individual developer who runs ControlTab ("we"). By creating an account you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. The service

ControlTab lets bands store tab files, keep versions of them, compare versions, review changes together and build setlists. It is free and in early access: features can change, and it is built and run in our spare time.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Give a real email address; it is how you log in and recover your account.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• Tell us at sergimartinezrodriguez@gmail.com if you think someone else has access to it.

3. Bands

A band is a shared space. Every member can see, change and delete the band's content, invite new members and remove existing ones. Only invite people you trust with that, and only invite people who expect to hear from you: the invitation is sent to them by email in your name.

4. Your content

Whatever you upload or write stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it (for example to render, play and compare tabs) and show it to your band, and to the public for songs your band marks as public. That permission exists only to run the service and ends when the content is deleted, apart from the short time it remains in backups.

We keep backups so the service can be recovered after a failure, but they are not a personal archive: we cannot promise to restore a file you deleted or an earlier state of your band. Keep your own copies of files you care about.

5. Copyright and other people's music

Tabs of songs written by others can be protected by copyright. Only upload material you wrote or have the right to use, and only make a song public if you have the right to publish it. You are responsible for what you upload and share.

If you believe something on ControlTab infringes your rights, write to sergimartinezrodriguez@gmail.com with the address of the content and a description of your rights. We will review it and remove what should not be there.

6. What is not allowed

• Uploading anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
• Trying to access other bands' data, or to break, overload or probe the service.
• Using the service to send spam, including through invitations.
• Automated scraping or bulk downloading of other people's content.
• Reselling the service or passing it off as your own.

7. Ending the agreement

You can stop using ControlTab at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing sergimartinezrodriguez@gmail.com. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

We may also change or shut down the service. If we shut it down, we will give account holders at least 30 days' notice by email so you can download your files.

8. No warranty

ControlTab is provided as it is, free of charge, without a promise that it will always be available, free of errors or fit for a particular purpose. Comparing and playing tabs is automated and can be wrong; check anything that matters before a rehearsal or a gig.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost data or lost income arising from the use of a free service. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or removes rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For changes that matter we will tell account holders by email or in the app at least 15 days before they apply. If you keep using ControlTab after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, you can close your account.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and can bring a claim in its courts.
